YouTube is introducing YouTube Handles to make it easier for members of the YouTube community to find and connect with each other. YouTube Handles will be unique to your channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more. YouTube Shorts is a new way to create and share short videos with others on YouTube. YouTube Shorts allows you to create videos up to 60 seconds long and share them with others on YouTube. YouTube Shorts is currently available in select countries and will be rolling out to more countries in the coming months.
Here’s what you need to know about YouTube Handles:
YouTube will gradually rolling out the ability to choose a handle for all channels over the coming weeks, and you will receive another email and a notification in YouTube Studio when you’re able to choose yours. In most cases, if you already have a personalized URL for your channel, we’ve reserved this for you as your handle. If you want a different handle from the one we’ve reserved, you can change it. If you don’t already have a personalized URL today, you’ll also be able to choose a handle for your channel.
As YouTube rolls out the ability to choose YouTube Handles, it’s important for influencers and brands to snatch them up quickly. Handles will be unique to each channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more. So if you want a different handle from the one YouTube has reserved for you, make sure to change it!
In addition to YouTube Handles, YouTube is also introducing YouTube Shorts – a new way to create and share short videos with others on YouTube. YouTube Shorts allows you to create videos up to 60 seconds long and share them with others on YouTube. This presents a new opportunity for YouTube influencers and Brands to create engaging, snackable content that can be consumed quickly and easily.
So if you’re looking to create short, engaging videos for your audience, make sure to check out YouTube Shorts!
